FERMENTED SOYBEAN AND TOFU SOUP

This was nephew’s request, and this soup didn’t disappoint. It was very hearty and earthy but noticed the zucchini was cooked to death. Would have preferred pork spareribs or pork neck for more heartiness.

SPICY STIR-FRIED SQUID W/ NOODLE

I loved the stir-fried squid as it was seasoned well with a nice spice level and the squid was still tender. However, the noodles were overcooked to my liking. Not a fan of mushy noodles.

SEA SALT CHICKEN

I must admit that NHJ does an excellent job grilling meats in the kitchen as I also enjoyed this dish. It was grilled nicely and seasoned with sea salt. It was good but the spareribs were superior.

SEA SALT SPARERIBS

This was one of my favorite dishes. Pork spareribs butterflied grilled to perfection dressed with sea salt. Loved the semi-charred areas.

SEAFOOD AND GREEN ONION PANCAKE

This pancake was impressive and enjoyed the taste, but I could only locate pieces of squid chunks. Would have also been better if it was cooked a tad bit longer for that crispy exterior I was hoping for

BEEF TONGUE

My nephew knows that I don’t like eating beef overcooked, so he paid attention to the thinly sliced beef tongue. It was served to me medium and enjoyed the tongue after dipping it into the seasoned sesame oil sauce.

LA KALBI

I see kalbi at my part-time job all the time, so I wasn’t thrilled nor impressed. It was just okay for me. However, BIL and nephew really enjoyed this.

Seafood and Green Onion Pancake

This pancake was impressive and enjoyed the taste, but I could only locate pieces of squid chunks.  Would have also been better if it was cooked a tad bit longer for that crispy exterior I was hoping for.

SPICY STIR-FRIED INTESTINE BACON SHRIMP WITH GARLIC

This dish was also executed well with great flavor, spice level and the semi-crunchy vegetables. However, I had a couple of pieces of intestines that could have been cleaned better.

PORK JOWL

Pieces of pork jowl were grilled at our table by nephew, and I enjoyed eating freshly grilled meats. Dipped the pork in the seasoned salt sesame oil sauce and it was heavenly.

PORK SPARERIBS

Another favorite during the meal. These butterflied pork spareribs were first marinated with a Korean sauce and then grilled. It was flavorful and so hearty.

Fermented Soybean and Tofu Soup

This was nephew’s request, and this soup didn’t disappoint.  It was very hearty and earthy but noticed the zucchini was cooked to death.  Would have preferred pork spareribs or pork neck for more heartiness.

Reservation

Best Korean food on island. I get the chicken bbq and it is fulfilling and has great flavor. The service was great.
